Brooke, Brigid, and Elizabeth were all truly incredible from start to finish. Being the husband there were a lot of concerns and worries ahead of the birth. When the day came everything went according to plan and the team were so helpful, kind, and professional. If/When we have another there is no other team I would want there by our side.

Brooke and Brigid are amazing and I feel so positive about my whole birth experience! I felt so safe with them, and empowered to have had the birth I dreamed of and wanted. Pregnancy was hard for me emotionally, but I found Brooke to be so comforting. I was told I was likely to have a 10 lb baby based on ultrasounds (he ended up being 9 lb 6 oz), and this made me very nervous during my pregnancy. But Brooke was able to ensure we were making safe decisions and empower me to feel confident and safe while giving birth to a larger baby. She helped me ensure my blood sugar was in control and that the baby was healthy and low risk. There were other stressful and emotional parts of my pregnancy, as there often are, and Brooke always made me feel better and informed about my choices.My labor was intense, but I was so happy with my birth team. Home birth is the way to go! I have a close friend who's hospital birth started out very similar to mine, and her pushing timeline was almost the same. Unfortunately she ended up having an episiotomy and using the vacuum to assist getting her baby out. She felt rushed and that she did not get the chance to try pushing long enough to get her baby out on her own. Whereas for me, I felt encouraged and empowered by my midwives the whole time, and this helped me give birth with no interventions. I felt so supported throughout the whole process.The postpartum care for me and my newborn was also amazing, and I didn't have to leave my house for two weeks (for our child's first pediatrician appointment)! It helped my recovery timeline a ton, being able to rest and stay home for that long. Plus, it was nice to not to have to take my baby anywhere at first, especially since he was born during the holidays and peak flu season. I highly recommend this midwife team!

Brooke and Brigid are phenomenal. They became part of our family. I want to have another baby just to work with them again! They are professional but so warm and kind. Our experience with them was amazing. We felt like we were in great hands. They always had m our safety in mind. We love them so much. Anyone would be lucky to have them as part of their journey and birth story.

I knew from the beginning of pregnancy that I wanted to have a home birth if possible, even as a first time mom, and sought out midwife care in San Diego. Brooke, Brigid, and Elizabeth were the perfect team, providing truly complete care based on a mix of age-old wisdom and intuition, scientific evidence, and modern day methods and healthcare standards that make sense. I always felt like I could trust them 100%. I had wonderful prenatal appointments that made me feel truly prepared for birth, both physically and spiritually. The birth of my son was empowering and peaceful, with no complications. Postpartum care was also thorough and attentive. Maureen, Brooke’s biller, also led me through the appeal process with our insurance and made sure we were reimbursed as much as possible. I learned so much from Brooke and Brigid and have benefited as a person overall from being in their circle. My husband also felt included and involved in pregnancy and birth- we both agree that we could not have had a better team.

We had our first child with Brooke and her team, and they were incredible from start to finish. Brooke and Brigid were both so warm, empathetic, and made us feel completely comfortable asking questions at any time. When we ended up transferring to the hospital, they both made themselves available and even came in at three in the morning when we needed them most. They continued to check in and support us, even though we were under the hospital’s care at that point. After the birth, the follow-up care was excellent. Brooke and Brigid offered thoughtful recommendations that complemented the hospital’s standard care really well. Their extensive experience and warmth made a huge difference for us. We always felt listened to, respected, and cared for. We’re incredibly grateful to have had Brooke and Brigid with us for such an important experience and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring, skilled midwifery team.

I had 4 other consultations before choosing Brooke Ray and Brigid to be my midwives and I’m so glad I listened to my gut. I was hoping for a successful home birth but was also realistic about the possibility of a hospital transfer. I truly believe that because of the calm support and confidence of my midwives and the loving care I received I was able to birth my first son in the peace and quiet of my own home. Brooke and Brigid were my birth team for my first baby and home birth. We were connected to Brooke through a mutual friend and after meeting in person, we felt excited and comfortable with her to help us navigate my first pregnancy and labor. The whole time I was under Brooke’s care, I felt so deeply taken care of. Physically, mentally, emotionally. This was my first homebirth, and I am so glad that I entrusted the birth of my baby in Brooke’s and Brigid’s hands. I got the sense that they truly care about what you want and making that happen while making sure everybody involved is safe. They went the extra mile to make sure they did the best they can do for me and my baby. I labored a lot longer than we expected, but they made sure that both my baby and I were safe, and it turned out to be the beautiful homebirth that I always wanted. Brooke was my midwife for my second pregnancy and I am beyond grateful for her thoughtful care throughout the whole process. She took the time at each prenatal appointment to go over any questions or concerns that I may have. She never rushed the appointments and addressed each concern with patience and care.
