We work with several major insurance providers to ensure you have access to the care you need.

Our Insurance Policy

At Brooke Ray Midwifery, we believe that every woman deserves access to quality midwifery care. We work with many insurance providers to help make your care as affordable as possible.

We are in-network with some major insurance carriers and will work with you to verify your benefits before your first appointment. If you don’t see your insurance listed, please contact us as we may still be able to work with your provider.

Insurance coverage for midwifery services varies by plan. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm your specific coverage details.

Brooke is an approved provider by the State of California’s Medi-Cal Access Program.



Out of Network Options

If your insurance is not listed above, you may still have coverage through out-of-network benefits. Many of our clients choose to use their out-of-network benefits for our services. We can provide you with the necessary documentation to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

We work with most PPO insurance plans as an out-of-network provider. Our comprehensive billing service ensures you receive maximum reimbursement.

While HMOs typically don’t cover out-of-network homebirth services, we offer options to help make care more affordable.

Other Options

HealthShare policies. A detailed invoice is provided during your prenatal care to ensure that your HealthShare pays for your Global midwifery fee as long as your share requirements have been met.

Before your first appointment, our office staff will:

  1. Verify your insurance benefits
  2. Determine your covered services
  3. Calculate any potential out-of-pocket costs
  4. Discuss payment options if needed

Maureen George, Office Manager & Biller

Maureen was born and raised in San Diego. She moved to San Francisco in 2003 where she received a degree in Business Administration at the University of San Francisco. Maureen completed a Billing for Midwives course in 2018 and since then has been working with midwives and their clients to ensure Home Birth is as affordable as possible based on their insurance coverage.
