Maureen was born and raised in San Diego. She moved to San Francisco in 2003 where she received a degree in Business Administration at the University of San Francisco. In 2012, she moved to South Korea where she taught English as a Second Language and travel throughout Asia. After two years of living abroad, she returned to her native city of San Diego where she quickly joined the birth community by helping her sister start her birth doula practice. She also trained as a postpartum doula.
In 2015, Maureen began working with Brooke Ray Midwife and team. She loves keeping the office and administrative side of the practice in order, so that the midwives can focus on what they do best – help families get amazing care and have the births they want. In addition to helping clients access their records, set up appointments, set up ultrasounds, and keeping everything in order, Maureen completed a Billing for Midwives course in 2018 and is now the in-house medical insurance biller for Brooke Ray Midwife. This means that you can focus on your own health and not worry about the stress of dealing with insurance reimbursements.
Maureen got to experience the midwives’ amazing skills and nurturing care firsthand when she had her own home birth with Brooke Ray Midwife and team in 2017. Welcoming her daughter, Emma, at home with the midwives was the best experience she has had with them yet. She loves being a part of our practice and we are thankful to have her as part of our team.
