Elizabeth Ortega Bradford, CNM, RN is a Certified Nurse-Midwife devoted to walking with families through the transformative journey of birth. Her lifelong passion for women’s health and community-centered care led her to midwifery, where she is honored to support families in making informed, autonomous decisions.
She holds two bachelor’s degrees from Texas A&M University, one in Health and one in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nurse Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University. Before becoming a Certified Nurse-Midwife, Elizabeth gained seven years of RN experience in hospitals managing complex, chronic and emergent health conditions.
Her hospital-based CNM training showed her that for healthy women and babies, birth does not need to be pathologized. She believes homebirth offers a safe and deeply unifying alternative. She also volunteered at the Best Start Birth Center in San Diego, and with Brooke where her passion for community-based midwifery deepened. Her path has always been centered on supporting women, families, and communities through compassionate, evidence-based care.
Elizabeth is endlessly inspired by the physiology of pregnancy and birth; how brilliantly designed our bodies are to bring new life into the world. To her, birth is not only safe and sacred, but so incredibly cool in the way it unfolds when supported and undisturbed. She brings both reverence and excitement to her work, blending clinical skill with genuine wonder at the process of pregnancy and birth.
Her midwifery philosophy aligns closely with the CNM Code of Ethics, centering on
safety, autonomy, and shared decision-making. She views her work as a privilege and is honored to care for the families of San Diego. She believes families deserve full, informed choice and individualized support through the transformative journey of birth.
